About Energy Safe Kids
Energy Safe Kids is a program of the National Energy Foundation. Funded in partnership with Yellow Bolt Power.
The mission of Energy Safe Kids is to cultivate energy literacy by promoting the safe and wise use of electricity and natural gas. An Energy Safe Kid will Think! about energy issues, Talk! to adults about those issues and Take Action! when needed.
In the spirit of our mission of promoting energy related education and awareness in our communities, the National Energy Foundation (NEF), in partnership with Yellow Bolt Power, is pleased to provide the Energy Safe Kids program and this collection of outstanding instructional materials. This program and its materials continually improve to further the many exciting advances in energy safety education and technology.

Serving the Community
To ensure community safety around electricity, Yellow Bolt Power strives to communicate these simple safety guidelines: always call 811 before digging, prioritize keeping a safe distance from power lines (at least 10 feet), avoid water near electrical equipment, and always assume downed lines are live, reporting them immediately

This program got the kids really excited to share more with their parents today. My entire class was able to recite what to do if they see a downed power wire. They also really liked learning about the different flag colors as many were able to share that they have seen them around. Great engagement, lots of materials for families to explore.
